ON TRACK
OBJECTIVE
Create a brand that provides standardized safety materials for Women's Flat Track Roller Derby leagues. Most derby leagues are nonprofit and volunteer run. As someone who played roller derby for seven years in Portland (Rose City Rollers), I found this led to a general lack of consistent safety principles across leagues.
CONCEPT
Focus on concussion prevention and recognition while cultivating a safety-first culture.
DELIVERABLES

PROCESS
I began by interviewing old coaches and players. The general consensus was that there was a severe lack of concussion awareness within the sport (along with a high risk of getting concussed). I then interviewed Haley Mills, the athletic training coordinator for Oregon State University Recreational Sports Sport Programs, about concussions in sports. After gaining lots of insight from her, I decided to focus my project on concussion awareness and well-being reminders to help people take care of their own physical and mental health both on and off the track.
Once I found my focus, I decided on my deliverables and started sketching and rendering in Adobe Illustrator.
VERT FEST ANNUAL CLIMBING COMPETITION
OBJECTIVE
Create promotional materials for OSU's Adventure Leadership Institute™ 2024 Annual Climbing Competition. Create designs that play off the year’s assigned theme of denim.
CONCEPT
Use photography and illustration within the design to create a sense of interactivity and movement. Emphasize the denim theme through significant use of OSU's secondary color palette.
PROCESS
Began by sketching out the Vert Fest font then rendering it in Illustrator. Used that as a starting point for the rest of the designs. Made some modifications to the details inside the Vert Fest font for the sticker and t-shirts, as the budget only covered two-color printing.
SPRING INTRAMURAL LEAGUES & EVENTS
OBJECTIVE
Create promotional materials for OSU's Sport Programs Spring 2023 Intramural Leagues & Events.
CONCEPT
Sporty and bright color palette evokes the feeling of springtime in Oregon while adhering to OSU's brand style guidelines. The "logo" will be used on everything related to Sport Programs for the entire term, so making it legible and scalable was important, as was including icons of intramural sports actually offered in the spring term.
PROCESS
Make logo, posters, and digital deliverables (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and digital display screens) that adhere to OSU brand style guidelines and match the requests of the client.
